Robert Bullard, Ph.D., Distinguished Professor of Urban Planning and Environmental Policy, Texas Southern University
Greg Dalton, Founder and Host, Climate One
Join us for a special evening as we present Robert Bullard with the ninth annual Stephen Schneider Award. Established in honor of Stephen Henry Schneider, one of the founding fathers of climatology who died suddenly in 2010, the $15,000 award recognizes a natural or social scientist who has made extraordinary scientific contributions and communicated that knowledge to a broad public in a clear and compelling fashion.
“Dr. Bullard is rightfully called the ‘father of climate justice’ for his groundbreaking work over four decades on environmental racism, land use, industrial siting, and climate justice. His work as an academic and an activist brought a human face to issues that are highly relevant today. Bullard’s lifelong skills in communicating about environmental justice to the media and the public make him an outstanding recipient of the Schneider Award,” says juror Cris Russell.
Bullard will be in conversation with Greg Dalton, founder and host of Climate One.
